WE SHOULD ATTACH OURSELVES TO GOD
On Sunday morning, February 16, 2020, Sunday of the Prodigal Son, his Eminence, the Bishop of Corfu, Paxoi and Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios did the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Monastery of Virgin Mary the Lambovitissa, in Afra.
Speaking to the faithful, Mr. Nektarios emphasized that the Triodion is to seek return to fellowship with God, that is, to return to the lost Paradise, which can be done through our Lord Jesus Christ, who was incarnate to awaken our consciousness, so as to avoid the illusion of the material paradise and sin, as the younger son did in the parable of the unborn son. The return of the heavenly son is linked to the realization that there is only truth in God.
The apostle Paul calls on all of us to enter into fellowship with God. Today, people look like the younger man, enjoy the material things, eat, drink, have fun without measure, and lose the attachment to God’s community.
So to close Christ in our hearts and to let go of the small ones and to have a pure heart, a love for God and people, to have an upward course in the Great Forty and to live not the resurrection of the custom, but the resurrection of the presence of God.
