Bishop of Corfu, Nektarios: ” Through God’s grace, humans can become spiritually rich”.

On Sunday, November 19th, 2017, his Eminence the Bishop of Corfu, Paxoi and Diapontian Islands, mr. Nektarios did the divine Liturgy in the Church of Saints Apostoloi (Disciples), in Kobitsi village.

In his preaching,based on the part of that day reading’s Gospel, the Bishop talked about the parabole of fool rich. The modern period seems like the period of our Lord’s life and preaching because many people have taken God out of their lives, they have made themselves Gods and focus more and more on acquiring more materials. This behaviour stems out of the spiritual emptiness that humans feel even if they were created as an Image of the Creator.

The foolness and the greed are the subsidiary means to fulfill the spiritual emptiness of the modern humans.
The actual richness is located in the sky and the relationship that occurs between Humans and God. When people are full of God’s grace, then through their daily fights, they can feel spiritually complete.

Closing, the Bishop, asked from the faithful Christians to consider their own mistakes and turn their hearts and minds to God.
