The Service of the Holy Suffering in the Holy Metropolis of Corfu
On holy Thursday’s evening, April 25, 2019, in a deeply emotional atmosphere, his Eminence. The Bishop of Corfu, Paxoi and Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios did the service of the Holy Suffering in the Metropolitan Church of Virgin mary the Spilaiotissa.
In his preaching, his Eminence encouraged the faithful Christians to look upon the Lord of Glory, who was crucified for our own salvation, doing at the same time our own self-critic. Christ has always His hands open, waiting for our return. It is up to us to walk towards Him.
In his closing, Mr. Nektarios wished to everyone the Lord to take our sins, since after two thousands years after His Crucifixion, the world has not yet understood the magnificence of the sacrifice of Son and Word of God and continues to live in sin.
