THE SERVICE OF THE EPITAPH IN THE HOLY METROPOLIS OF CORFU

At the Metropolitan Church of the Most Holy Theotokos Spilaiotissa, on the afternoon of Holy Friday, April 30, 2021, His Eminence the Bishop of Corfu, Paxos and the Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios, did the Epitaph service.

The procession of the Epitaph, which was simple, in the courtyard of the Metropolitan Church, up to the height of the old Courts, was attended by the Bishop, the holy clergy and the chanters, while the representatives of the authorities remained at the entrance of the church and the representatives of the military authorities of the temple, in order to observe the measures of protection of public health. Small sections of the MANTZAROS and KAPODISTRIAS Philharmonic Orchestras paid tribute by playing and being lined up to the right and left of the entrance of the church, without moving.

In the end, Mr. Nektarios stressed that the resurrection of our Lord, which was the expectation of all mankind, will give to all those who accept the blessing of the meeting, to live in the heavenly kingdom.
