THE NEW YEAR’S CAKE IN THE METROPOLIS OF CORFU
On Tuesday noon, December 31st, 2019, his Eminence, the Bishop of Corfu, Paxoi and Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios blessed and cut the New Year’s Cake in the Bishop’s House of the Holy Metropolis of Corfu, in Mouragia.
In the event, the Regional Governor, Mrs. Rodi Kratsa- Tsagkaropoyulou, the MoP Mr. Dimitris Biagis, the Mayor of the Central Corfu and Diapontian Islands, Ms. Meropi Hydraiou, the Mayor of Northern Corfu, Mr. George Machimaris, the Vice- Regional Governonr of Corfu Mr. Zorbas, along with the representatives of the military and other authorities, holy clergy, the ecclesiastical councils and many people participated in the event.
Mr. Nektarios wished the new year to be creative, with security and calmness along with faith in Christ, the Life-giver of time and the country to go forward dealing with its everyday problems, while fighting for its spiritual development!
