THE FIRST PART OF THE AKATHIST HYMN AND THE SMALL COMPLINE
In the Metropolitan Church, Corfu town, the First Part of the Akathist Hymn to Virgin Mary took place with his Eminence, the Bishop of Corfu, Paxoi and Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios, on Friday, March 6, 2020.
Mr. Nektarios talked to the faithful Christians about the psalm of the service” Moses understood with the bus the great mystery of Your pregnancy” Moses is the imitation of our Christ. He saved his fellow people from the slavery of the Egyptians, just like our Lord saved us from sin and led us to the spiritual freedom of Resurrection. Moses saw the burning bush,assimilated to our Virgin Mary. Fire and light is God and Virgin Mary accepted this fire of divinity inside her. This results from her faith and virtue.
Christ blows out the fire of sin. He is the light, hope, security, fire. Our Lady Theotokos is the medium for Christ to reach us. She is the helper, the one who transfers our prayers to Christ. She is the one who brings life to us. She supports us in our spiritual struggle and lead us to the road of salvation. She definitely helps us and thus every Friday of the Holy Lent is dedicated to Her.
