The Bishop of Corfu visits Skripero
On Wednesday, December, 27, 2017 his Eminence, the Bishop of Corfu, Paxoi and Diapontian Islands Mr Nektarios did the Divine Liturgy in the celebrating Church of Saint Stefanos in the village of Skripero.
In his speech, his Eminence analysed the day’s part of the Gospel, mentioning that the field of the parabole is about the rich people of God, the Israeli. The lord of the field is God and the workers who come to collect the fruits are the Prophets of the Old testament.
Having parted from the real God, the Israeli people did not accept His people but they also killed them. So, God abandons the hearts of those who do not possess love.
One of these people, sent by God, continued the Bishop of Corfu, was the first Deacon and Protomartyr, imitating our Lord, who not only forgave the ones who killed him, but also prayed to God to forgive them too. His blood is a real proof throughout the centuries. He calls us today, in a time where Christ is fought and atheism is constantly present, to stand still and confess with boldness our faith to our Lord, Jesus Christ, through the martyrdom of our consciousness.
We are obliged as members of the Church of Christ to close our ears to the orders of the foreigners who try by various means to eliminate the cultural identity of each state in favor of multiculturalism and globalisation.
In his closing, Mr. Nektarios encouraged all the loyal Christians to clean their hearts in order for it to become Mangel, where our Lord, Jesus Christ will stand via the prayers of Saint Stefanos the Protomartyr.
