Requesting Prayer for all the candidates of the Panhellenic exams
His Eminence the Bishop of Corfu, Paxos and the Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios, made a requesting prayer for the candidates of the Panhellenic Examinations on the afternoon of Thursday, June 11, 2020, at the holy pilgrimage of Saint Spyridon.
Addressing the candidates, Mr. Nektarios, after expressing his joy because Corfu holds this great tradition, people before any trial of their lives to come to St. Spyridon to gain strength, stressed that the knowledge of our times needs to be combined with faith, so that it may be the harmonious combination of door-to-door and top-down wisdom. The children’s effort was great and their anxiety was understandable. But the joy of the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit and the prayer of St. Spyridon for them will help the will of God to meet their own hopes.
Mr. Nektarios, with emotion, told the students that they are his spiritual children and their progress gives them great joy not only to themselves and their families, but also to him as the spiritual father of the place. Every day in Agios Spyridonas a special prayer will be broadcast in favor of the candidates throughout the exams, as the Church stands next to the new generation!
Mr. Nektarios gave blessings to the children, while the shrine of Saint Spyridon was opened to worship.
On behalf of the educational community, the Regional Director of Education, Mr. Petros Angelopoulos, and the Head of the Department of Secondary Education, Mr. Theodoros Athinaios, addressed the audience.
