Events on the celebration of the Ionian Islands with Greece

A Doxology was performed at noon on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at the Holy Temple of St. Spyridon in Corfu for the anniversary of the union of the Ionian Islands with Greece on May 21, 1864. The president of the Municipal Council of Central Corfu and the Diapontian Islands, Mr. Dimitrios Metallinos, delivered the solemn speech of the day.
Afterwards, Mr. Nektarios, despite the adverse weather conditions, made a memorial service at the Monument of the Union of the Ionian Islands and laid a wreath in memory of the leader of the Union of Blessed Metropolitan of Corfu  Athanasios Politos and the Epirus warriors of Corfu.
