Celebrating the Elevation of the Venerable and Life-giving Cross in the Holy Metropolis of Corfu
On Friday morning, September 14, 2018 the Matin and the Divine Liturgy were sung in the Holy Church of Holy Fathers in Corfu Town.
The preaching was made by the Protopresbyter father George Bogdanos, who mentioned the story of the Elevation of the Venerable and Life- Giving Cross and the need to be elevated in every Orthodox Christian’s heart.
. It should be noted that the 14th of September is a Memorial Day for Corfu, because during the night between 13 and 14th of September 1943, the air force of the Nazis’ Germany bombarded the town, resulting to the tragic death of many citizens. The Holy Church of Holy Fathers was completely destructed that night.
