Bishop of Corfu,Mr. Nektarios: “Church is the laboratory of Holiness”
In the evening of Saturday, June 13, 2020, His Eminence the Bishop of Corfu, Paxos and the Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios, did the Divine Liturgy at the celebrating Holy Temple of All Saints of Nissaki, in Northern Corfu.
Addressing the faithful, Mr. Nektarios stressed that the Church is a laboratory of holiness. And all those who fought for the faith are saints. The saints defended the accuracy of the faith. That is why some of the blood and some of the conscience have been martyred. But they have shown that Christ is the truth.
In our days, we need holiness in an age of secularized spirit, as people question the God-given nature of Christ. That is why divine communion is a scandal for many, because they do not believe that bread and wine change into the Body and Blood of Christ. That is why today we need to defend the truth. Let us imitate our saints and walk the path they have shown us.
God is personal. He is our Father, our Creator. He is the One who sent His Son to redeem us. So let us follow in the footsteps of the Fathers and Saints of our faith, and let us not be discouraged!
