BISHOP OF CORFU VISITS THE HOLY MONASTERY OF PANTOKRATOR
His Eminence the Bishop of Corfu and Paxos Mr. Nektarios today on the first of August 2021 officiated and spoke to the pilgrims of the Holy Monastery of the High Pantocrator. The Holy Monastery of the Pantokrator has been located at the highest point of Corfu on Mount Pantokrator for centuries. In Corfu, the custom has prevailed since ancient times, from the first of August to the sixth of August, all the people of Corfu flocked from south to north day and night to worship the miraculous image of the Pantocrator and the Holy Monastery remains open 24 hours a day where Holy Communions are held continuously in order for the pilgrims to participate in prayer. In ancient times, pilgrims climbed the mountain on foot and many spent the night in the Holy Monastery.
In his address, His Eminence called on the faithful, as we are physically on the mountain of the Transfiguration to be restored and spiritually “Let us therefore rise to the mountain of the Transfiguration of the Lord”. He spoke of the Tabernacle light which is the uncreated light of the deity and which our Lord allowed His chosen disciples to taste this light and this miraculous event of His transfiguration took place, shortly before His voluntary passion, to do not see the Lord on the Cross suffering and dying and withdraw their faith from the person of our Lord Jesus Christ, but know that only human nature suffers on the Cross.
So today we celebrate the progress of the Holy Cross which also introduces us to the high meaning of the feast and His disciples may have remained committed to our Lord, but humanity benefited and potentially saved by the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ abandons for 21 centuries, because he prefers the sermons of the dark centers of demystification of the salvation of the human race, ostensibly offering an upgrade of the life of modern man through the achievements of modern technology which unfortunately is not so innocent things for our lives .
Today people all over the planet feel the deception through all these benefits of man because man was massed and from the image of God became the image of himself. Only faithful people who are rooted and living members of His church feel the freedom in Christ, the true justice and the peace of God with which man can coexist with his fellow human beings. While all the modern facilities of the dark centers blocked the freedom of man his will and modern man became captive and helpless. So let us renew here on the mountain of our Lord our true relationship with the transfigured Jesus Christ.
His Eminence wished a good pilgrimage and good strength to the faithful as Corfu honors with great brilliance three major holidays in August. That of the Transfiguration of the Lord, the remembrance of the miracle of Saint Spyridon on the 11th of August and the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
