Bishop of Corfu, Mr. Nektarios: The late Archbishop Christodoulos left his mark alive
On the occasion of the memory of Saint Christodoulos in Patmos, His Eminence Metropolitan of Corfu, Paxoi and Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios held a Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of St. Nectarius Kamaras.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, Mr. Nektarios dedicated a memorial to the rest of the soul of the blessed Archbishop of Athens and all Greece, Mr. Christodoulos, who on this day held his monasteries.
Mr. Nektarios pointed out that the blessed Archbishop Christodoulos left the mark of his reading on life in the hearts of the people. Was he a man of deep and authentic Orthodox faith, a patriot, a true Greek, and a confessor of the ecclesiastical tradition and identity in the age of religious indifference, hypocrisy, cultural alienation.
His confession was “Christ and Greece”. The Greeks are called upon to keep his virtues and example alive in our hearts and to fight for our individuality!
